　　一、化工翻譯的特點：

　　1、化工翻譯需選用最合適的詞匯意思

　　如：All the painting work are also in the scope of Subcontractor, it includes touch up，primer and finish painting.

　　分包商的工作包括所有的油漆工作，有補漆和底漆、面漆。Primer一詞的常用意思是入門、第一，但這里是指底漆。

　　2、化工翻譯需分析語法結構，了解修飾成分，分析各部分之間的邏輯關系，使字數較多、結構復雜的長句子變得短小、容易理解。

　　3、由于化工翻譯的譯文中大量使用被動語態(tài)形式，所以要按中文的習慣正確排列語序，使其閱讀起來通順、上口。

　　動設備配管時要求全部氬弧焊打底。

　　另外要記住一些常見的固定縮寫：

　　如：FRP―Fiberglass-Reinforced Plastics 玻璃纖維增強塑料、玻璃鋼、HDPE－ High-density polyethylene  高密度聚乙烯最后，在化工翻譯時注意忽略一些無實際意義的詞，使譯文更清楚、更簡潔。

　　二、化工英語翻譯的基本方法：

　　1 、順序法：當漢語長難句內容的敘述層次與英文基本一致時， 可以按照順序翻譯。

　　例如：介紹了一種制備硝仿的安全方法， 該方法首先硝化起始原料， 起始原料溶解或懸浮于硫酸中， 然后在 - 10 ~ + 80 , 將硝化劑（由硝酸、硝酸鹽或 N2O5 組成 ）加入硫酸溶液或懸浮液中。

　　2 、合譯法：翻譯時可將漢語的短語譯成英文句子， 使語意連貫。

　　例 如：盡管高比率超細 AP力學感度很低，但 AP /GAP /BDNPF /A 推進劑的化學安定性良好。

　　The AP /GAP /BDNPF /A prope llan ts presen tgood chem ica l stab ility and despite the h igh per centage of UFAP su fficiently low mechanical sensitiv ity.

　　例 如：所能產生的少量硝酸銫不代表此物質的實用價值， 盡管它具有良好的相特征。

　　The small amount of available cesium n itratedoes no t indicate a practical use of them aterial inspite o f its good phase properties.

　　3、分譯法：將漢語中一個單句譯成兩個或兩個以上的簡單句。

　　例 13 用 200m, 30m 和 2m 三種 AP可得到 83%和 84%固體裝填的可加工推進劑。

　　W ith a trimoda l fraction of 200m, 30mand 2m AP, it w as possible to ach ieve processab le propellants w ith 83% and 84% so lid loading.

　　4、 綜合法：翻譯一個漢語長句時不能只單純使用一種翻譯方法， 而要綜合使用各種方法。我們必須仔細分析， 對全句進行綜合處理， 以便把漢語原一 中國科技翻譯 21卷文翻譯成通順且忠實原文的英文。

　　例 一：取代滅火系統中的推進劑應是能速生成大量無固體殘渣、無毒氣體的氣體發(fā)生劑， 該推進劑是一種可澆鑄雙基推進劑配方， 主要組分分別是硝酸銨、NC和一種或數種高能硝酸酯增塑劑， 另外還含有熱穩(wěn)定劑。
